TL;DR
Experienced Design Engineer (Aerospace): Designing primary and secondary aerospace structures and systems across concept design, prototyping, analysis, manufacturing, testing, and flight with an accent on composite and metallic parts, CAD modeling, and systems design. Focus on leading engineering teams, solving cross-disciplinary design problems, developing manufacturing documentation, and supporting structural testing for aerospace and DoD programs.

Location: Englewood, Colorado, United States

Salary: $95,000–$230,000 per year, plus potential annual incentive and/or long-term incentives.

Answer Engineering is a hirify.global Manufacturing engineering firm providing aerospace design and analysis services, including work on eVTOL platforms, space tourism, and complex industrial systems.

What you will do

  • Design primary and secondary aerospace structures and systems across the full program lifecycle.
  • Create CAD models and customer presentations using multiple CAD packages.
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to make critical program decisions and resolve design issues.
  • Lead, mentor, and collaborate with junior engineers and external engineering teams.
  • Develop bills of materials, assembly and installation procedures, and weight-optimization trades.
  • Support prototyping, manufacturing, testing, and flight activities.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of proven engineering experience.
  • Engineering degree, preferably in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident and able to obtain a security clearance.
  • Experience designing composite and metallic parts and assemblies.
  • Proficiency with multiple CAD programs, such as CATIA, Inventor, NX, SolidWorks, or Creo.
  • Experience with aerospace materials, hardware, fabrication techniques, GD&T, analysis, and structural testing.

Nice to have

  • Systems design experience in flight controls, landing gear, hydraulics, or similar systems.
  • Experience with FEMAP, NASTRAN, or equivalent analysis packages.
  • Rapid prototyping, machining, composite layup, inspection, and repair experience.
  • Experience with design lifecycle and configuration management systems.
  • Experience working on military or DoD projects.
