Technical Approver - Engineering for Services (EfS)

Location: Derby, United Kingdom; hybrid working as required by business needs. Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain SC security clearance.

What you will do

• Review and approve technical deliverables before release.
• Verify technical data, calculations, engineering methodologies, and verification and validation activities.
• Confirm that acceptance criteria and evidence requirements are satisfied.
• Identify and escalate technical risks, quality concerns, and delivery issues.
• Support technical reviews, audits, and engineering governance activities.
• Promote right-first-time delivery across complex programmes.

Requirements

• Experience in aerospace or another highly regulated engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of verification and validation principles and experience reviewing and approving engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of configuration control, engineering governance, and quality assurance processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, risk management, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field, or equivalent hands-on experience from a technical military background.
• Willingness and eligibility to obtain SC security clearance, including completion of baseline personnel security checks.

Nice to have

• Experience in Engineering for Services, service engineering, or MRO environments.
• Experience with delegated approval or signatory processes.
• Knowledge of airworthiness and safety-critical engineering activities.
• Exposure to technical assurance, engineering governance, or quality management.
• Professional registration or progress towards Chartered Engineer status.
