Staff Product Development Engineer (NAND Flash Memory Development)

Location: Onsite at the Penang SDSM Office in Batu Kawan, Malaysia. A secondary location is listed at the Bangalore PTP Office in India.

What you will do

• Drive NAND development from pre-silicon circuit simulation through first silicon and qualification.
• Own and improve DPPM targets for SD NAND technology in line with technology and product roadmaps.
• Define test flows, test strategies, screening methods, stress strategies, algorithms, and specifications for NAND silicon.
• Collaborate with Fab technology development, process engineering, device engineering, design engineering, and test engineering teams to resolve failures and improve manufacturing processes.
• Develop error-handling algorithms with Flash system and firmware teams.
• Perform deep electrical failure analysis, identify root causes, define corrective actions, and monitor memory health and DPPM trends.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience with wafer-level and reliability work, DPPM, and analysis.
• Strong understanding of electrical failure analysis methodology and experience troubleshooting complex problems.
• Ability to analyze problems, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Strong data-crunching, statistical analysis, and interpretation skills.
• Experience with DPPM evaluation and improvement, failure analysis, project management, and technical leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience with memory products or systems.
• Basic understanding of system and firmware principles and device physics.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
