Senior Manager, DevOps Engineering (AWS)

Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States; onsite work and occasional travel or off-site work may be required.

Salary: $160,500–$267,500 USD base pay per year, plus potential stock or cash incentives.

What you will do

• Lead a team of software development operations engineers across enterprise tools, finance tools, engineering processes, and software integration and deployment.
• Drive AWS cloud architecture and development and production environment best practices.
• Develop and support automated pipelines for containers, data management, configuration, releases, and deployments.
• Automate software deployments across virtual machines, Kubernetes, container platforms, cloud environments, and bare-metal servers.
• Assess and modernize existing applications through refactoring and adoption of container-based architectures.
• Collaborate with project leaders, Security, and IT; lead Agile sprints and support mission objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• 1–3 years of software engineering or DevOps management experience and 10+ years architecting AWS cloud solutions.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance and Counterintelligence Polygraph are required.
• Experience with AWS services including EC2, ELB, RDS, Route 53, CloudWatch, and S3; cloud networking; and scalable infrastructure as code using Ansible or Terraform.
• Experience with DevOps pipelines and tools such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, or Artifactory, plus Kubernetes or Docker.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, Terraform, or Bash; Linux system administration; embedded-systems cross-compilation; CompTIA Security+ and AWS Certified Solutions Architect–Associate.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Experience with on-premises-to-cloud migrations, IT transformations, database administration, or AWS ElastiCache for Redis.
• Git command-line expertise and familiarity with CIS, NIST, RFC2196, ATO, CtF, or RMF security frameworks.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect–Professional and excellent communication skills.
