Manufacturing Engineer I

Location: Hybrid work, 3 days per week in the Lincolnshire, Illinois office. Expected start: Summer 2027.

Salary: $61,040–$91,560 annual, plus a target performance-based annual cash incentive equal to 5% of base pay.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and implement manufacturing, repair, distribution center, and NPI processes.
• Drive Lean Six Sigma and Industry 4.0 initiatives, including audits, corrective actions, value stream mapping, and process standardization.
• Analyze process performance through time studies, headcount and downtime analysis, warehouse slotting, SKU velocity, bottleneck analysis, and KPI tracking.
• Perform PFMEA, DFMEA, root cause analysis, and predictive analysis to improve quality, efficiency, and operational flow.
• Develop mechanical design and repair fixture improvements, and evaluate equipment and automation solutions with vendors.
• Prepare work instructions, standard operating procedures, project plans, ROI analyses, and operational cost information for RFPs.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering with 0+ years of relevant experience, or a master's degree in engineering.
• Coursework in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Ability to work hybrid, 3 days per week in the Lincolnshire, Illinois office.
• Ability to analyze test results, identify root causes, recommend solutions, and follow quality processes and standards.
• Experience or coursework related to manufacturing, repair, distribution, process improvement, or operational analysis.

Nice to have

• Completion of a hirify.global internship.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma analytical tools such as flow charts, Pareto charts, cause-and-effect diagrams, value stream maps, and run charts.
• Microsoft Office experience, programming knowledge, or AI knowledge.
• Yellow Belt certification.
