Electrical Design Team Leader (Industrial Automation)

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 per year, plus potential incentive compensation and long-term incentives

What you will do

• Lead daily operations of the electrical and instrumentation design team, including workload allocation and resource planning.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct design reviews, and support mentoring, hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
• Design electrical and instrumentation systems in AutoCAD Electrical, including P&IDs, one-lines, panel layouts, loop drawings, and schematics.
• Perform short-circuit and voltage-drop calculations and determine conduit, conductor, and wire sizing.
• Develop bills of materials, support procurement, and maintain design quality, manufacturability, and project timelines.
• Support field installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, standardization, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• AAS or BS in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7–10+ years of electrical and instrumentation design experience in industrial process control.
• Expertise in AutoCAD Electrical 2023 or newer.
• Proficiency in electrical calculations, including short circuit, voltage drop, and equipment sizing.
• Knowledge of NEC, UL508A, NEMA, ISA, IEC, and hazardous-area design for Class I, Division 1/2 environments.
• Experience in chemical, glass, food, pharmaceutical, or similar process industries, with strong communication and delivery skills.
