Electrical Designer (Industrial Automation)

Location: In-person at Chandler, AZ; Sonora, CA; Milpitas, CA; or Irvine, CA, United States. Travel to company and customer sites may be required, up to 25%.

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, single-line diagrams, and interconnection diagrams in SolidWorks Electrical.
• Route wiring, cables, and harnesses in 3D SolidWorks assemblies and collaborate with mechanical engineers on fit and manufacturability.
• Translate requirements into production-ready electrical designs and generate and maintain bills of materials.
• Support prototyping, debugging, design revisions, engineering change orders, integration activities, and build support.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams across sites and communicate design updates through reviews and implementation activities.
• Maintain component libraries and templates while ensuring compliance with NEC, UL, and IEC standards.

Requirements

• 2–7+ years of experience in electrical engineering or electrical drafting, supported by a portfolio of system design projects.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical schematics.
• Ability to work effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Understanding of electrical components and industrial systems.
• Ability to work in person at one of the listed US locations and travel up to 25%.

Nice to have

• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Creo, Bluebeam, Navisworks, or SolidWorks PDM.
• Experience with PLCs, electrical wiring techniques, PCB design processes, or construction and industrial systems.
• Experience with 3D wire or harness design, automation, robotics, or industrial equipment.
