Director Cloud Platform

Location: Dublin, Ireland; the role includes travel within EMEA for customer visits and reliability reviews.

What you will do

• Lead the EMEA Cloud Platform organization and serve as the senior platform contact for regional insurer customers.
• Build executive relationships, lead technical reliability discussions, and present platform performance, roadmap commitments, and operational posture.
• Chair or contribute to Customer Advisory Boards and reliability councils, translating customer feedback into platform priorities.
• Establish and mature observability, reliability engineering, Production Readiness Reviews, automation, and operational best practices.
• Define the long-term reliability and scalability roadmap with executive leadership and product engineering.
• Manage, mentor, and develop multiple engineering teams, including performance management, budgets, resource allocation, and schedules.

Requirements

• 15+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of advanced education and experience.
• Senior leadership experience in Cloud Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, including managing managers and scaling distributed teams.
• Experience with platform operational principles including SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, toil reduction, and blameless postmortems.
• Deep experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, cloud networking, security, RBAC, and vulnerability management.
• Strong software engineering and systems architecture knowledge in Go, Python, or Java, plus experience with observability, APM, and CI/CD tools.
• Executive customer presence, structured customer engagement experience, and willingness to travel within EMEA.

Nice to have

• AWS or Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD.
• Experience with hirify.global InsuranceSuite or the hirify.global Cloud Platform.
• Customer-facing engineering experience in an enterprise SaaS environment.
• Interest or experience in agentic AI or LLM development.
