Battery Engineer - Mechanical (Lithium-Ion Battery Packs)

What you will do

• Lead the mechanical design and development of battery packs for multiple industries.
• Drive concept design, prototyping, detailed analysis, modeling, drafting, manufacturing, and testing across program cycles.
• Use performance simulations and analysis tools to model critical battery pack performance.
• Create CAD models, technical presentations, bills of materials, assembly documentation, and installation procedures.
• Coordinate technical decisions and issue resolution across engineering, program management, procurement, manufacturing, customers, and external partners.
• Verify that battery hardware and software meet system needs, performance requirements, standards, and certification expectations.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of system design experience with lithium-ion battery packs or related technologies.
• At least 6 years of engineering experience in automotive, aerospace, industrial, or related industries.
• Experience designing, developing, and testing battery systems for electrified propulsion or stationary energy storage.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as CATIA or SolidWorks and familiarity with FEMAP, NASTRAN, or equivalent analysis packages.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a similar field with strong practical experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted U.S. refugee or asylee due to export control requirements.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a similar practical field.
• At least 4 years of project management experience.
• Experience with BMS software development, control algorithms, battery mathematical modeling, or experimental battery research.
