Application Engineer / Equipment Estimator (HVAC)

Location: East Providence, Rhode Island, United States; onsite Monday through Thursday and flexible work location on Fridays

Annual base salary: $91,516.66–$128,379.99

What you will do

• Optimize and validate HVAC equipment selections, including size, configuration, voltage, and options.
• Review plans, specifications, estimates, proposals, and transition documents to validate project scope and quantities.
• Evaluate cost savings and cost risks, plan equipment and value-pricing breaks, and reconcile job costs.
• Support sales by preparing preliminary and final equipment submittals and coordinating submittal releases.
• Prepare equipment for order entry, verify pricing, revise coordination worksheets, and maintain accurate bid data.
• Negotiate material prices with vendors and monitor industry trends to maintain competitiveness.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, construction, engineering technology, or a related field, plus at least two years of HVAC project management or estimating experience.
• Alternatively, at least five years of HVAC project management or estimating experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems is preferred.
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required.
