TL;DR
Principal Inventory & Materials Improvement Specialist (Manufacturing Supply Chain): Establishing and improving inventory management, material presentation, issuance, reconciliation, and financial control processes across a jet propulsion manufacturing environment with an accent on inventory accuracy, material flow, and working capital performance. Focus on designing scalable stocking and replenishment strategies, solving systemic cross-functional issues, and aligning physical, ERP/MRP, and financial inventory records.

Location: Onsite at the Centennial, Colorado facility, United States. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance are required.

Salary: $145,000–$180,000 base salary per year.

What you will do

  • Own inventory strategy and standardized processes across the manufacturing environment.
  • Develop material presentation strategies for line-side stocking, point-of-use inventory, kitting, staging, and replenishment.
  • Optimize stocking, kit build, staging, consumption, and material issuance processes based on demand, lead times, criticality, and production requirements.
  • Lead cycle counting, physical inventories, variance investigations, reconciliations, and root-cause corrective actions.
  • Partner with Finance on inventory valuation, reserves, adjustments, write-offs, and period-end activities.
  • Lead cross-functional improvements with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, Engineering, and IT while using KPIs to improve inventory accuracy, availability, flow, and financial performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of inventory or materials management experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and improving inventory management processes and supporting production lines, work cells, or assembly operations.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory reconciliation, cycle counting, root-cause analysis, and ERP/MRP systems in manufacturing.
  • Experience partnering with Finance on inventory valuation, financial reconciliation, reserves, adjustments, and reporting.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, or pull-based material systems.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP, or Lean/Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience developing material flow strategies for high-mix or high-volume assembly.
  • Familiarity with WIP tracking and backflushing processes.
