Hybrid Software Engineer - Java (Entry/Mid Level) (Java)

Location: Hybrid role requiring residence within a 180-mile radius of Bloomington, Illinois, or Richardson, Texas, with regular work from home and in-office work.

Salary: $85,500–$93,000 per year, plus potential incentive pay of up to 10% of base salary.

What you will do

• Develop and modernize Property & Casualty systems.
• Implement complex solutions from functional requirements through coding and support.
• Build full-stack applications using Java and related technologies.
• Apply agile team principles and contribute to collaborative engineering work.
• Write clear technical documentation and communicate with teams across locations.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of experience with Java and object-oriented design principles.
• Experience with full-stack development using Java/J2EE, Python, JavaScript, React, Node, SQL, SOAP/REST, and Spring Framework.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, and Docker.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Karate, Cucumber, or Codecept, plus Git version control.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies, strong communication skills, and the ability to learn new languages and frameworks.
• Must be eligible to work lawfully in the United States immediately; visa sponsorship is not available.

• Hands-on experience with AWS and foundational cloud technology knowledge.
