Lead Full Stack Engineer (Java)

Location: Louisville, Kentucky or Dallas, Texas, United States; work at home with occasional office visits and travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings.

Salary: $129,300–$177,800 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead full-stack engineering strategy and execution across user interfaces, APIs, backend services, data platforms, and cloud environments.
• Define architecture, technology standards, modernization plans, and decisions covering microservices, integrations, cloud strategy, and legacy-system rationalization.
• Coordinate delivery across multiple engineering teams through prioritization, dependency management, risk mitigation, and removal of technical and organizational blockers.
• Establish quality, security, compliance, release-readiness, reliability, and performance standards.
• Lead critical production incidents, technical escalations, root-cause remediation, and initiatives to improve system resilience and developer experience.
• Mentor tech leads and senior engineers while partnering with Product, UX, QA, Platform, Architecture, Director, and VP stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including senior-level development on large-scale systems, and 2+ years leading engineering teams or major technical initiatives.
• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot for backend and microservices development.
• Proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, .NET, UI development, APIs, backend services, and data layers.
• Understanding of distributed systems, cloud-based architectures, DevOps practices, CI/CD, automation, and containerization.
• Must be able to work from the specified U.S. geography and maintain a dedicated, interruption-free workspace to protect PHI/HIPAA information.

Nice to have

• Python experience for scripting, backend development, or data processing.
• AZ-900 or another cloud certification.
• Experience with cloud migration, modernization, enterprise environments, and distributed systems.
