Senior Software Engineer - Frontend/Backend

Location: Remote within the United States; the role supports talent nationwide

Salary: $125,000–$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, maintain, and improve production software across front-end and back-end systems.
• Own application code contributions and coordinate integrations, dependencies, and adjacent technical systems.
• Diagnose complex technical issues and use incidents and lessons learned to improve systems and processes.
• Communicate technical concepts, risks, designs, and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and engineers.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance across the team.
• Lead small projects, technical initiatives, interviews, and temporary team structures as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of professional software engineering experience; relevant experience may substitute where permitted.
• Expert-level knowledge in at least one discipline: front-end, back-end, full-stack, or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining production applications.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues and building scalable, maintainable software.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience providing technical guidance, mentorship, or peer support to engineers.

Nice to have

• Full-stack experience with modern web applications and APIs.
• Experience with React, Angular, Vue, Java, Python, Node, relational or NoSQL databases, and cloud platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, Agile development, accessibility, security, performance, and scalable application design.
• Experience supporting government or federal programs and collaborating with clients, product teams, designers, and technical stakeholders.
