Junior Software Tester

Location: Onsite in Arlington, Virginia, or Herndon, Virginia

Salary: $70,000–$95,000 USD annualized

What you will do

• Perform manual testing of web-based applications and supporting tools.
• Develop and execute functional, end-to-end, regression, and user-acceptance tests.
• Create and maintain test cases, procedures, and documentation.
• Detect, reproduce, troubleshoot, and document software defects and feature requests.
• Collaborate with developers and testing teams to investigate defects and determine resolutions.
• Use browser developer tools, logs, command-line utilities, and basic scripting to investigate application behavior.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with Atlassian products.
• Basic knowledge of IT systems, networking, and problem-solving.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Participation in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, stand-ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.

Nice to have

• Experience testing applications involving maps, geospatial data, OpenLayers, or CesiumJS.
• Familiarity with Cucumber/Gherkin, Selenium, or similar testing tools.
• Military or commercial networking experience and familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, or network troubleshooting tools.
• Familiarity with Java, TestNG, and Maven.
