Sr Quality Assurance Engineer (UAS)

Location: Teal Drones, Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. Requires travel to the test site multiple times per week.

What you will do

• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, development, and pilot teams to test and deploy UAS according to requirements.
• Create, maintain, and execute test cases and test suites for internal and external requirements.
• Develop automated testing procedures and perform system, integration, smoke, and regression testing.
• Analyze results, organize testing artifacts, and prepare reports for stakeholders.
• Identify defects, support root-cause analysis and corrective actions, and work with engineering teams on resolution.
• Improve QA processes while ensuring compliance with sUAS regulations and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• 10 or more years of experience in a related field.
• Eligibility for U.S. Part 107 certification and ability to travel to the test site multiple times per week.
• Experience with sUAS platforms, including multirotor aircraft or fixed-wing UAS, plus strong knowledge of UAS systems and equipment.
• Experience automating test cases and using Bash, Python, Linux, embedded systems, radio, and networking technologies.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residence is required for ITAR/EAR-controlled work, and visa sponsorship is not available. A post-offer background check is also required.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace engineering, aviation technology, or UAS technology.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, PX4, ArduPilot, MAVLink, UASTool, ATAK, QGroundControl, WebODM, UgCS, or Pix4D.
• Familiarity with controls, robotics, microcontrollers, Android, FAA Drone Zone, LAANC, Drone NOTAMs, and waivers.
