TL;DR
Senior Electrical Engineer (Aerospace): Serving as the technical authority for all electrical systems on Peregrine lunar landers, delivering hardware and engineering analysis across avionics, RF communications, power, and harness subsystems with an accent on technical accountability, systems engineering, and verification. Focus on managing electrical system requirements and baselines, resolving technical risks, reviewing supplier deliverables, and defending subsystem scope at formal program reviews.

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Applicants must be a U.S. Person eligible to obtain required export authorizations under ITAR and EAR regulations.

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 base salary per year, excluding benefits and bonus or incentive compensation.

What you will do

  • Serve as the single point of technical accountability for all electrical systems on Peregrine lunar landers.
  • Develop, document, and maintain the electrical system technical solution within program constraints, requirements, and baselines.
  • Lead and delegate technical authority across engineers responsible for avionics, RF communications, power, and harness systems.
  • Identify and manage technical risks, issues, and opportunities, including approved resolution plans.
  • Define and defend verification and acceptance approaches while supporting configuration control and baseline integrity.
  • Review supplier technical deliverables and present technical status and scope at formal program reviews.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing spacecraft electrical systems for Class D unmanned spacecraft or similar systems.
  • Experience with avionics, electrical power systems, RF communications, or harness systems.
  • Systems engineering experience controlling requirements, risks, and integration flow.
  • Ability to mentor and lead small engineering teams designing complex products.
  • Strong debugging, communication, and technical writing skills; high proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with power budgeting, energy balance analysis, solar photovoltaic systems, and lithium-ion batteries.
  • Knowledge of RF link budgets, circuit analysis, electronics and component or LRU design processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, range and ground safety electronics compliance, NASA-STD 4001 or NASA-STD 4003.
  • Knowledge of space environmental testing, including TVAC, shock and vibration, and EMI/EMC.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
