TL;DR
Senior Electrical Engineer (Spacecraft) (Avionics, EPS, RF Communications): Developing and maintaining electrical systems for Peregrine lunar landers with an accent on technical authority, subsystem design, verification, and risk management. Focus on defining electrical architectures, controlling requirements and baselines, reviewing supplier deliverables, and defending technical scope at formal program reviews.

Location: Hybrid, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Applicants must be a U.S. Person eligible to work under ITAR and EAR export regulations.

Salary: $110,000–$150,000 base salary per year.

What you will do

  • Act as the technical authority and single point of accountability for all electrical systems on Peregrine lunar landers.
  • Develop, document, and maintain electrical system technical solutions within project constraints and approved baselines.
  • Lead and mentor engineers designing complex spacecraft electrical products.
  • Identify electrical subsystem risks, issues, and opportunities, and manage approved resolution plans.
  • Define and defend verification and acceptance approaches while supporting configuration control and baseline integrity.
  • Review supplier technical deliverables and present technical status and scope at formal program reviews.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with spacecraft electrical systems, including avionics, electrical power systems, RF communications, or harnesses.
  • B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with technical accountability, electrical subsystem development, verification, and risk management.
  • Must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under applicable U.S. regulations.
  • Must be eligible to obtain required U.S. export authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Systems engineering experience covering requirements, risks, and integration flow.
  • Experience developing electrical systems for Class D unmanned spacecraft or similar systems.
  • Experience with power budgeting, energy balance analysis, solar photovoltaic systems, and lithium-ion batteries.
  • Knowledge of RF link budgets, circuit analysis, LRU design, NASA standards, range and ground safety electronics, and space environmental testing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar scheduling tools; an M.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
