TL;DR
Associate Engineer, Reliability Compliance (NERC/NPCC/ISO-NE): Supporting transmission reliability compliance through regulatory filings, self-assessments, event analysis, and reportability determinations with an accent on NERC standards, NPCC directories, ISO-NE procedures, and accurate compliance records. Focus on coordinating SME inputs, evaluating potential reportable events, and maintaining timely regulatory reporting across transmission operations and engineering.

Location: Hybrid role based in Westwood, MA, Berlin, CT, or Hooksett, NH. Employees must work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and must be able to work up to five days onsite when required. Travel between MA, CT, and NH may be necessary.

Salary: $82,800–$92,000 annual salary, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

  • Plan, prepare, review, and coordinate NPCC, NERC, and ISO-NE regulatory filings and responses.
  • Verify compliance with engineering, testing, maintenance, NERC, ISO-NE, and NPCC requirements using records from subject-matter experts.
  • Assign and follow up on compliance tasks through the Archer application.
  • Prepare NERC Event Analysis reports and coordinate self-assessments and reportability determinations.
  • Gather information for filings, maintain compliance records and filing calendars, and support presentations for management and regulators.
  • Collaborate with transmission operations, planning, engineering, and other subject-matter experts to ensure timely compliance reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • 0–3 years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with the utility industry, particularly electric transmission, and understanding of electrical power engineering principles.
  • Experience with regulatory reporting, database management, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and oral communication, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring immigration-related sponsorship will not be considered. A valid driver’s license is required, along with availability for emergency restoration assignments and travel as needed.

Nice to have

  • Engineering design experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training certification.
