Senior Data Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Union City, California. Applicants must be able to work in the United States. H-1B visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $131,000–$216,000 per year, plus benefits and equity.

hirify.global is a Series C startup applying machine learning and robotics to autonomous forklift navigation and infrastructure-free pallet handling in warehouses.

What you will do

• Audit and evolve organizational KPIs, challenging metrics that do not support decisions.
• Perform exploratory analysis of autonomous product data to identify hidden signals and performance patterns.
• Design data models that use simulation and predictive techniques to anticipate outcomes in customer environments.
• Review data ingestion pipelines, validate reporting sources, and influence overall data architecture and documentation.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to shape requirements, roadmap decisions, customer reporting, and value-focused tools.
• Create executive-ready visualizations and use generative AI tools and automated workflows to expand insight and alerting capabilities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience applying advanced statistical techniques to custom, non-linear datasets.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or JavaScript, with deep experience in data warehouses and analytics tools.
• Technical expertise in database design, data models, data mining, and segmentation.
• Experience with BigQuery, Looker, Grafana, or BigTable.
• Strong first-principles thinking, presentation skills, and the ability to influence executives and engineering leads.
• Must be able to work in the United States; H-1B visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Nice to have

• Experience as a first data hire or building a data function from scratch in a startup.
• Background in robotics, autonomous vehicles, IoT, or industrial automation.
• Experience with dbt or a similar data transformation framework.
• Experience with product-led growth analytics, predictive modeling, anomaly detection, or regression analysis.
• Familiarity with GCP or AWS and data flows from physical devices to the cloud and warehouse.
