Senior Data Engineer (AI)

Location: Los Angeles, California; the stated salary range applies to the Playa Vista location.

Salary: $158,000–$214,000 base salary annually.

What you will do

• Design, build, and own scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and data models.
• Drive data quality, reliability, observability, and performance across data systems.
• Partner with analytics, machine learning, software, and product teams to deliver data products and insights.
• Own data infrastructure and orchestration while improving CI/CD for data workflows.
• Integrate AI-assisted development tools and contribute to evaluating AI-powered product capabilities.
• Resolve complex data issues, improve system reliability, mentor engineers, and establish data engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of data engineering experience owning scalable pipelines and models.
• Strong SQL and data-engineering language skills, such as Python, plus experience with pipeline and orchestration tools.
• Experience designing scalable data models and cloud data platforms, including warehouses or lakehouses.
• Knowledge of data quality, observability, and performance optimization.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor engineers.
