Senior EV Reconditioning Technician II

What you will do

• Lead diagnosis and repair of high-voltage battery, charging, drivetrain, thermal, electrical, drivability, and software systems.
• Resolve complex faults using OEM diagnostic software, EV scan tools, meters, oscilloscopes, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Perform heavy mechanical repairs, suspension and alignment work, and ADAS calibration.
• Safely service and isolate high-voltage systems according to OEM and hirify.global procedures.
• Complete final quality sign-off on reconditioned vehicles before retail listing.
• Mentor junior technicians, document repairs, and help develop reconditioning SOPs and quality standards.

Requirements

• 3+ years of automotive technician experience with hands-on diagnostic work.
• Independent diagnosis of complex electrical, high-voltage, and drivability issues.
• High-voltage safety certification or the ability to obtain it immediately.
• Strong command of OEM diagnostic software and EV scan tools, including multi-make EV servicing experience.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and age 21+ for road testing.
• Ability to work onsite in Irvine and take ownership of shop quality and safety standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, or other EV OEMs.
• ASE A-series certifications, L1 and/or L3 advanced certification, and L4 ADAS certification.
• Experience mentoring or leading junior technicians.
