SQL Server & Azure Infrastructure Engineer (Azure)

What you will do

• Assess, plan, and execute SQL Server database infrastructure migrations from AWS to Microsoft Azure.
• Evaluate SQL Server environments from version 2008 through current releases, including configurations, workloads, dependencies, and compatibility risks.
• Execute cutover and rollback plans, validate data integrity and connectivity, and stabilize migrated Azure environments.
• Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize production SQL Server workloads and Azure database services.
• Perform performance analysis, query tuning, capacity optimization, and database security, backup, recovery, and high-availability operations.
• Collaborate with application, cloud, networking, security, and infrastructure teams while documenting migration procedures and target architecture.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server administration and database infrastructure experience.
• Experience supporting legacy and modern SQL Server environments, from SQL Server 2008 through current releases.
• Strong hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting database workloads in Microsoft Azure.
• Experience executing database, cloud, or infrastructure migrations and modernization initiatives.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server configuration, performance tuning, security, connectivity, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Ability to identify and remediate compatibility issues when modernizing legacy database versions.

Nice to have

• Experience migrating SQL Server workloads from AWS to Microsoft Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, or SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Familiarity with Azure networking, identity management, monitoring, and security controls.
• Relevant Microsoft Azure or SQL Server certifications.
• Consulting or professional services experience with large-scale enterprise cloud migrations.
