TL;DR
Senior Database Engineer (MySQL/AI): Optimizing the database infrastructure powering a high-transaction digital banking platform with an accent on performance analysis, scalability, and cloud database architecture. Focus on isolating complex bottlenecks, building performance simulations, optimizing SQL and data design, and guiding technical teams toward reliable solutions.
Location: Krakow; hybrid work requiring attendance at the Amsterdam office at least twice per week and residence within commuting distance.

What you will do
- Analyze large volumes of performance data and diagnose complex database bottlenecks.
- Build simulations to validate performance findings and explain results to technical audiences.
- Advise development teams on database design and microservice performance.
- Test proof-of-concept products and ensure software quality, scalability, and performance.
- Collaborate with the cloud solutions team on MVP development and launch.
- Develop performance-isolation tools and educate internal teams as a database consultant.
Requirements
- Strong experience with 100TB+ highly available, high-transaction databases; MySQL is required.
- Experience with cloud databases on AWS or Azure.
- Deep knowledge of database fundamentals, architectures, SQL performance review, and optimization.
- Experience with performance measurement, analysis, optimization tools, and methodologies.
- Ability to coordinate and manage complex technical solutions and communicate complex subjects clearly.
- Must be within commuting distance of the Amsterdam office and work onsite at least twice per week.
Nice to have
- Oracle or MSSQL experience.
- Experience with ML, LLM, and AI concepts and their impact on database performance and data architecture.
