Control Panel Builder

Location: Torrance, United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Salary: $25–$40 USD per hour

What you will do

• Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, BOMs, and project documentation.
• Mechanically assemble control panel enclosures, backplates, DIN rail components, wire duct, and electrical devices.
• Wire power distribution, control circuits, PLC I/O, VFDs, motor starters, relays, contactors, terminal blocks, and power supplies.
• Cut, strip, crimp, label, route, and terminate wires while maintaining required workmanship standards.
• Verify components, torque electrical terminations, perform continuity and point-to-point checks, and document results.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, rework, modifications, engineering changes, and communication of build discrepancies.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience building, wiring, or assembling industrial control panels; 3+ years preferred.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings.
• Experience with DIN rail components, terminal blocks, relays, contactors, power supplies, circuit breakers, VFDs, and PLC I/O wiring.
• Proficiency with wire strippers, crimpers, torque tools, drills, label printers or engravers, multimeters, and other shop tools.
• Knowledge of electrical safety, PPE, LOTO procedures, BOMs, work instructions, and quality checklists.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on the shop floor for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with UL 508A, NEC, and industrial control panel standards.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms, instrumentation, analog/digital signals, or 4–20 mA loops.
• Panel testing, troubleshooting, quality inspection, redlines, as-built markups, or engineering change experience.
• Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift certification; field service experience.
• Electrical certification, electrician training, trade school, or formal technical training.
