Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Healthcare AI)

Location: New York City, hybrid; 25–50% travel to customer sites expected

Base salary: $190,000–$210,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Lead on-site discovery and own production deployments for health system partners using Epic, Athena, and other EHR platforms.
• Build production integrations to extract and connect data from Epic Clarity, Athena SQL databases, FHIR APIs, and HL7 feeds.
• Deliver end-to-end solutions by translating customer pain points, workflows, and KPI requirements into platform configurations and deployed systems.
• Develop web applications and backend systems using Python, TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL.
• Debug database queries, API connections, data pipelines, and platform configuration issues across the full stack.
• Build deployment tooling and automation, collaborate cross-functionally, and influence the product roadmap with field insights.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong full-stack capabilities.
• Production proficiency in Python and TypeScript, with experience building scalable systems.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, performance optimization, and navigation of large database schemas.
• Experience integrating external systems and working with customer data environments.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and ability to work with ambiguous requirements.
• Healthcare domain knowledge, including RCM workflows, clinical data, and healthcare data standards.

Nice to have

• Integration experience with Epic or Cerner, FHIR R4, HL7 v2, or other healthcare data standards.
• Previous experience at healthcare provider organizations or health IT vendors.
• Forward deployed or field engineering experience at B2B companies.
