Data Scientist/Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Redwood City, California, United States. Client-facing position with required business travel.

Salary: $136,000–$183,000 USD annual base pay.

What you will do

• Lead the research, design, implementation, and deployment of AI models, agentic solutions, and optimization algorithms for enterprise applications.
• Partner with customers to build and scale AI applications on the C3 AI Platform.
• Contribute to new AI capabilities within the platform.
• Analyze model performance across enterprise deployments and improve recall, false-positive rates, and related issues.
• Collaborate with data engineers, subject matter experts, and customer teams to source and validate data assets.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI, agentic systems, supervised and unsupervised learning, regression, and classification.
• Strong foundation in linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics.
• Experience building and deploying models at scale in distributed or cloud-native environments.
• Ability to drive projects independently and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; willingness and ability to travel based on business needs.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with JavaScript, Java, or Scala.
• Familiarity with LLM frameworks, vector databases, or RAG architectures.
• Portfolio of AI projects, publications, or open-source contributions.
