  • Select components and work with vendors based on design analysis, requirements, and performance.
  • Collaborate with software engineers on sensing mechanisms and integrated hardware/software system design.
  • Design and build reliability test fixtures for accelerated life testing, failure analysis, and design validation.
  • Support field testing and debugging locally and at remote customer sites.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with integrated hardware/software systems such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, automotive, or aerospace products.
  • BS or MS in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical/electronics engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Experience designing complex electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems from concept through product, including cost reduction and design for scale.
  • Experience with linear and rotary actuators, machined parts, weldments, sheet metal components, assemblies, and detailed mechanical drawings with GD&T, tolerances, and BOMs.
  • Knowledge of selecting, designing, or integrating sensors; experience with product development, design for manufacture, reliability, and cost.
  • Ability to perform finite element analysis, build rapid prototypes using shop equipment, and apply strong technical analysis skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with industrial automation, linkage synthesis, robotic manipulator joints, PDM, and part release processes.
  • Experience with contract manufacturers, sensor wiring, cable harnesses, multidisciplinary robotics teams, or systems for hardened environments.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on technical role supporting a safety-critical industrial automation product.
  • Opportunity to develop a market-defining robotic automation product for enterprise logistics.
  • Full health benefits.
