Senior Shift Equipment Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Onsite at the Caswell site, Towcester, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom. Attendance at the site is essential; the rural site is not served by public transport. Rotating shifts and overtime may be required.

What you will do

• Provide day-to-day equipment engineering support to wafer fab manufacturing and process engineering teams.
• Repair and perform preventive maintenance on specialist semiconductor processing equipment, including routine cleans and preparation work.
• Manage chemicals, gases, spare parts, chemical fills, waste handling, and critical inventory levels.
• Develop maintenance strategies to improve equipment utilization, OEE, uptime, and total productive maintenance.
• Lead improvement projects, track progress in an eight-step format, and prepare monthly equipment performance reports.
• Mentor technicians and junior engineers, coordinate cross-training, and supervise suppliers, contractors, and field service engineers.

Requirements

• HNC, HND, or degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent qualifications and experience; alternatively, at least 10 years of directly related experience.
• At least five years of experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Experience following documented procedures independently and creating work instructions, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Strong time-management, organizational, communication, teamwork, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office skills, and good written and spoken English.
• Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom and able to attend the onsite facility. Cleanroom work and the use of cleanroom clothing are required; work with hazardous chemicals and potentially self-contained breathing apparatus may be involved.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining and repairing semiconductor manufacturing equipment from vendors such as ASML, Trikon/SPTS, OiPT, Palomar, Temscal, Leybold, Leica, or SemiTool.
