Head of Hardware Production and Supply Chain Operations (3D Printing)

Location: Onsite 5 days per week at the Thomas Rd location in Santa Clara and the Borregas Ave location in Sunnyvale, California, United States.

Salary: $182,400–$273,600 per year, adjusted based on geographic differential.

What you will do

• Lead hardware production, logistics, inventory, and freight operations from supplier through customer.
• Recruit, develop, coach, and cross-train manufacturing technicians and logistics and inventory staff.
• Maintain safety, quality, and compliance across production, warehouse, and logistics operations, including OSHA and dangerous goods requirements.
• Manage production schedules, capacity, budgets, labor costs, material utilization, and delivery commitments.
• Establish operational KPIs for production, freight, logistics, and inventory, and drive continuous improvement using Lean manufacturing principles.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Legal, Sales, contract manufacturers, and 3PL partners on launches, design reviews, and operational reporting.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or production management, including leadership of technicians or production operators.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Experience with logistics, freight, inventory control, budgets, schedules, and resource planning.
• Ability to understand complex electromechanical assemblies and manufacturing processes.
• Strong attention to detail in production operations, documentation, and quality systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills for translating strategy into team execution.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of OSHA workplace safety regulations.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
• Background in 3D printing, additive manufacturing, or precision hardware production.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, DFM/DFA principles, international trade compliance, or dangerous goods regulations.
