Staff Mechanical Engineer (Additive Manufacturing)

Salary: $175,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Research, develop, and design mechanical, electromechanical, and pneumatic prototypes, subsystems, and capital equipment.
• Perform system- and subsystem-level GD&T analysis and create complete design documentation, including bills of materials, drawings, and procedures.
• Integrate, validate, troubleshoot, and test equipment, components, and mechanical systems.
• Drive continuous improvements in system performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Coordinate fabrication, installation, operation, application, and repair of mechanical and electromechanical products.
• Manage small- to mid-sized projects from concept through production and collaborate with Hardware, Software, and Process teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical systems design and development experience.
• 6+ years of CAD experience, preferably with SolidWorks.
• 8+ years designing industrial capital equipment or manufacturing systems, such as semiconductor, automation, robotics, CNC, biomedical, solar, or additive manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with GD&T, quality drawing documentation, thermal analysis, FEA, CFD, and simulation software.
• Ability to work independently and hands-on while building, integrating, and testing complex systems in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Metal additive manufacturing experience.
• Experience with risk analysis methods such as FMEA.
