Software Engineering Manager (SDK)

Location: Remote in the United States; candidates may also be based in the San Francisco/Bay Area.

What you will do

• Lead and grow the SDK engineering team, supporting prioritization, career development, and delivery.
• Own product strategy, roadmap, and execution with product and design partners.
• Set technical direction across a large-scale TypeScript codebase and guide architecture decisions.
• Design and ship minimal APIs, typed React hooks, developer tooling, and SDK capabilities.
• Stay hands-on through technical reviews, pairing, code contributions, and API design guidance.
• Run the open-source project, improve developer experience, measure adoption, and collaborate with engineering, product, design, DevRel, and partnerships.

Requirements

• Based in the United States or the San Francisco/Bay Area.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership experience and 5+ years as a software engineer.
• Deep experience with TypeScript and React, including state management, hooks, module systems, bundling, and browser fundamentals.
• Experience building libraries, SDKs, or developer tools used by other engineers.
• Experience as an engineering manager or senior engineer at a product or SaaS company.
• Experience collaborating with product managers and designers and working with remote, distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, Vite, or Zustand.
• Maintaining a meaningful open-source project.
• API or SDK design experience at a developer platform company.
• Experience with AI-assisted development, automated browser testing, Node, or startup environments.
