Technical Lead, Developer Experience (React)

Location: London, UK (Remote); UK-based teams meet in person once per month at the London hub

What you will do

• Co-own the Developer Experience vision and strategy across the dashboard, documentation platform, and control plane.
• Lead a team of five engineers building customer-facing web applications.
• Own technical architecture and design decisions for the dashboard, documentation platform, marketing website, and billing UI.
• Partner with product management, customers, engineers, and Infrastructure to iterate quickly and coordinate dependencies and deployments.
• Promote AI-assisted development using LLMs and AI tools while maintaining engineering judgment and quality.
• Set standards for code review, testing, production readiness, incident response, performance management, career development, and hiring.

Requirements

• Extensive experience leading engineering teams at B2B SaaS or API-first companies.
• Strong software engineering background with React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript.
• Backend experience with Ruby on Rails or Node.js, including building and shipping customer-facing web applications at scale.
• Fluency in API design, documentation, and developer experience principles.
• Experience building product-minded engineering cultures, with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• AI-first mindset and practical experience using LLMs and AI tools to improve engineering velocity.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering developer tooling or APIs for software developers and other technical users.
• Understanding of pub/sub, distributed systems, and event-based architectures.
• Startup or growth-stage company experience.
