Engineering Manager - Architecture

Location: San Jose, CA or Pittsburgh, PA, United States

Salary: $200,000–$240,000 per year, plus bonus and equity. Final compensation depends on experience and location.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the Architecture engineering team through regular 1:1s, feedback, growth plans, performance tracking, hiring, and interviews.
• Partner with technical leads to prioritize work, define roadmaps, and align execution with product, sales, and marketing requirements.
• Own sprint planning, retrospectives, standups, backlog management, task prioritization, and project tracking.
• Coordinate cross-functional engineering initiatives and ensure delivery against timelines.
• Work with external vendors and engineering partners by defining statements of work, holding alignment meetings, and tracking deliverables.
• Support architecture design explorations spanning compilers through hardware, balancing efficiency, performance, and area.

Requirements

• 5+ years of post-graduate experience and demonstrated people-management ability.
• Experience leading projects and scaling engineering teams.
• Strong project-management skills, including sprint planning and issue tracking.
• Background in computer architecture or an adjacent discipline, with familiarity with relevant technical problems and solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience working with outside vendors to deliver engineering products, plus strong communication and attention to detail.
