TL;DR
Analyst, Material & Chemical Conformity (Automotive): Reviewing and validating IMDS material data, supplier submissions, safety data sheets, and chemical compliance information for vehicle materials, components, and assemblies with an accent on restricted-substance screening, regulatory compliance, and data quality. Focus on resolving supplier submission issues, assessing PFAS and other regulatory impacts, generating compliance reports, and improving material compliance software and processes.

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; 4 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings, company events, and occasional travel are required.

Salary: $80,000–$97,500 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

  • Review and validate IMDS Material Data Sheets for materials, components, and assemblies.
  • Screen supplier submissions against OEM restricted-substance lists, GADSL, TSCA, US state PFAS requirements, California Proposition 65, and other chemical requirements.
  • Review on-site chemical Safety Data Sheets for compliance with the US OSHA HazCom Standard and internal procedures.
  • Monitor material and chemical regulations across the US and Canada and support regulatory impact assessments for new vehicle programs.
  • Maintain material compliance data quality, generate IMDS reports, and support compliance software requirements, configuration, and UAT.
  • Work with engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, EHS, procurement, and global suppliers to resolve issues and close rejected or incomplete submissions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive, manufacturing, or product development.
  • Working knowledge of materials such as metals, polymers, and coatings, as well as substance-level reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex datasets, databases, and information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Hands-on experience with life cycle assessment and/or quantitative sustainability modelling.
