Functional Safety Manager (Automotive)

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Coordinate with global engineering teams to define vehicle-level self-driving requirements.
• Define reliability and robustness requirements for autonomous ECUs, sensor systems, and electrical interfaces.
• Conduct HARA, FMEA, FTA, and FMEDA safety reviews for autonomous systems and features.
• Work with data infrastructure specialists to identify operational data for measuring real-world performance.
• Represent hirify.global in customer-facing interactions with OEMs.
• Maintain compliance with the Quality Management System and drive quality and process improvements.

Requirements

• Degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
• English proficiency required.
• At least 3 years of experience developing safety-critical embedded systems.
• At least 5 years of experience in automotive systems development or a similar field.
• Strong understanding of automotive software development processes and extensive knowledge of ISO 26262 Automotive Functional Safety.
• Working knowledge of ISO 21448 Safety of the Intended Function and UL 4600 Evaluation of Autonomous Safety.

Nice to have

• Experience designing automotive electrical and electronic systems.
• Experience with structured requirements management systems such as Jama, Polarion, or DOORS.
