Staff Firmware Engineer (Embedded)

Salary: $200,000–$230,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Develop and optimize firmware for hardware devices, including edge functionality on constrained systems.
• Design, implement, and test high-performance firmware subsystems across the full embedded stack, from bootloader to application firmware.
• Develop platform firmware for flash file systems, communication stacks, and build-tool management.
• Port and maintain an RTOS and build component firmware that integrates with the broader Lunar system.
• Drive system architecture discussions and collaborate through design reviews and code reviews.
• Support system testing, reliability, and manufacturing teams with firmware features, debugging, and performance analysis.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development and architecture experience across the lifecycle from prototype to production.
• Experience developing in C for bare-metal systems and/or RTOS environments.
• Experience implementing power-electronics firmware control functionality.
• Ability to integrate hardware and software into end-to-end solutions.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams using modern engineering practices such as Git and continuous integration.
• Ability to contribute independently in a small, fast-moving team.
