Director, AI Engineering – Enterprise AI

What you will do

• Lead, recruit, and grow a high-performing AI engineering team.
• Design and oversee enterprise AI applications for Marketing, Finance, Legal, Enterprise Search, and R&D.
• Establish architecture patterns, technical standards, code review practices, and engineering best practices.
• Guide engineers in AI/ML systems design, cloud infrastructure, production deployment, and operational excellence.
• Partner with product, data science, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Build systems for data pipelines, model serving, monitoring, continuous improvement, security, compliance, and governance.

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional software engineering experience with progression into senior or leadership roles.
• At least 3 years of production experience with AI/ML systems, including LLMs, generative AI, or RAG architectures.
• At least 3 years of technical leadership experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker or Kubernetes; and modern deployment practices.
• Strong Python or comparable AI/ML programming experience, plus version control, testing, code review, CI/CD, and observability.
• Experience shipping reliable, scalable production systems and collaborating across globally distributed teams and time zones.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or enterprise software environments.
• Familiarity with ERP, CRM, workflow automation, and third-party AI service integrations.
• Experience with RAG systems, knowledge management applications, MLOps, model monitoring, or LLM evaluation frameworks.
• Background in enterprise security, compliance, data governance, and engineering culture development.
