Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Toronto, Canada; at least 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Design AI agent systems that automate data retrieval, impact analysis, and proactive recommendation generation.
• Combine LLMs, traditional machine learning models, and rule-based logic into reliable end-to-end workflows.
• Move agent prototypes from proof of concept to production with documentation, testing, CI/CD, and deployment ownership.
• Build predictive and forecasting models that support agent systems and business decisions.
• Monitor recurring ETL processes, maintain data quality, and contribute to data stack modernization and cloud migration.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and regional teams to communicate recommendations to senior business stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, 2+ years with an advanced degree, or relevant PhD-level qualification.
• Experience building and deploying modular, scalable, and maintainable machine learning models to production.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs or generative AI and interest or experience in agentic or multi-model systems.
• Experience building data pipelines and working with large-scale data using Spark, Airflow, SQL, or Python.
• Experience managing data science or machine learning projects from scoping through delivery.
• Ability to explain technical work clearly to non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI agents or multi-model orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, Claude Agent SDK, or OpenAI Agents SDK.
• Experience with predictive modeling, time-series forecasting, and productionizing agentic applications.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Financial services or payments industry experience.
• Experience working across geographies and time zones in a global organization.
