Principal Software Developer (AI Integration)

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work model

Expected salary range: $155,000–$180,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design and implement integration patterns for AI agents, LLMs, and machine-learning workflows within the hirify.global Agent Mesh.
• Build scalable, reliable, and secure components for agent communication, orchestration, and real-time data streaming.
• Research and prototype emerging AI technologies, evaluation frameworks, and integration patterns.
• Lead technical architecture, mentor development teams, conduct code reviews, and establish AI integration best practices.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Implement testing, performance optimization, monitoring, and continuous innovation for AI-driven systems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years working with AI/ML systems, LLMs, RAG, and agent-based architectures.
• Expert proficiency in Python, Java with Spring Boot, and JavaScript/HTML with React.
• Experience with AI frameworks and tools such as A2A/ADK, LangChain, CrewAI, and AutoGen.
• Deep knowledge of event-driven architecture, message brokers, API design, microservices, vector databases, embedding models, and RAG systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code.
• Experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and managing MLOps, model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Apache Kafka, Pulsar, or hirify.global PubSub+.
• Experience with distributed systems, high-availability architectures, and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of AI safety, governance, ethical AI, enterprise integration patterns, or middleware technologies.
• Open-source AI/ML contributions or research publications.
