Senior AI Engineer (Evisort AI)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; flexible work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field.

Annual base salary: 169,000–253,000 CAD.

What you will do

• Develop AI-powered user experiences using LLMs, foundation models, knowledge graphs, personalization, and predictive analysis.
• Build and deploy scalable AI products, services, and lifecycle-managed pipelines across hirify.global’s product ecosystem.
• Architect reliable application layers around AI models, including error handling, reusable patterns, and seamless user experience integration.
• Prototype, benchmark, and evaluate model outputs, retrieval quality, and agentic behavior against product requirements.
• Operate observable, secure, high-availability cloud-native systems and continuously improve quality, performance, and scalability.
• Provide technical leadership, own engineering workstreams, and mentor junior-to-mid-level engineers while collaborating with product, design, and ML infrastructure teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend architecture, distributed systems, system design, scalability, and performance optimization.
• 3+ years integrating AI capabilities such as LLMs or foundation models into enterprise products.
• 1–2+ years with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• 4+ years deploying scalable systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure, plus 2+ years operating Docker- and Kubernetes-based cloud-native services.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, GitOps, observability, databases, caching, asynchronous processing, testing, security scanning, and dependency management.
• Experience with Python backend services and REST APIs, React and TypeScript, feature flags, experimentation, and technical mentorship.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• Experience with Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, SQS, Celery, FastAPI, Django, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Sentry, Datadog, LaunchDarkly, or SonarQube.
