Engineering Leader (AI)

Location: Remote from China; address in Beijing, China. Interviews may be conducted virtually and/or onsite.

What you will do

• Define the long-term architecture for AI systems, infrastructure, developer platforms, and product architecture.
• Guide technical decisions across model integration, data pipelines, distributed systems, scalability, and reliability.
• Translate product direction into technical execution and align engineering workstreams across teams and locations.
• Establish engineering culture, development practices, technical standards, and hiring processes.
• Build and scale an engineering organisation across talent hubs including China and the US.
• Work with product, research, and leadership teams to resolve technical and execution challenges.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in system architecture, large-scale systems, and distributed architecture.
• Ability to reason about complex systems and make pragmatic technical decisions.
• Experience building or leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong judgment regarding technical trade-offs and engineering priorities.
• Comfort operating in an early-stage environment with high ambiguity.
• Clear communication and ability to align teams.
