Junior Data Center Technician (AI Cloud)

Location: On-site in Newcastle, UK; 8-hour shift rotation covering 24/7 operations

What you will do

• Install and maintain servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and structured cabling.
• Replace failed components such as drives, fans, power supplies, motherboards, and CPUs.
• Rack and stack servers, switches, and supporting equipment.
• Install, route, label, and test copper and fibre links.
• Trace cabling faults and identify failing components.
• Receive and inventory hardware and perform physical site checks.

Requirements

• Some hands-on technical or operations experience in a data center, critical environment, or adjacent technical trade.
• Demonstrated aptitude for hardware work, including component-level tasks and rack-and-stack activities.
• Basic understanding of network links, copper cabling, and fibre cabling.
• Methodical fault-finding approach and operational discipline.
• Ability and willingness to work on-site in a shift rotation.
• Existing right to work in the UK is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Exposure to liquid cooling or GPU hardware.
• Interest in fibre optics and link-level troubleshooting.
