Sr. Buyer, Iron Castings

What you will do

• Manage global spend, contracts, sourcing activities, and supplier relationships for the iron castings commodity category.
• Develop annual cost-reduction plans and commodity strategies based on quotes, total cost of ownership, and global supplier spending.
• Prepare RFIs, RFQs, sourcing council documentation, landed-cost analyses, and contract recommendations.
• Coordinate cross-functional technical reviews, PPAP and launch milestones, project timing, and resolution of roadblocks.
• Monitor supplier performance, corrective actions, compliance, savings projects, forecasts, and surcharge mechanisms.
• Lead benchmarking, VA/VE, Lean, resourcing, LPP analysis, and value stream mapping activities to improve supply-chain workflows.

Requirements

• Four-year degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Engineering, Product Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 3–5 years of procurement experience; professional supply-chain certification is preferred.
• Experience with supplier metrics, contracts, performance reviews, cost analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Understanding of blueprints and technical specifications, with strong MS Office and computer skills.
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% as required.
