What you will do
- Define and govern unified API strategies (REST and GraphQL) and design standards across teams.
- Design integration patterns for a modular, microservices-based platform, including sync/async communication and anti-corruption layers.
- Own event-driven architecture on Kafka, including topic design, schema evolution, and consistency models.
- Establish data domains, ownership models, and governance frameworks for metadata, lineage, and quality.
- Enable engineering teams by producing reference architectures, reviewing high-risk designs, and coaching on best practices.
- Reduce fragmentation by steering teams toward reusable platform standards and durable integration patterns.
Requirements
- 10+ years in software/data engineering or architecture, with 5+ years in a senior role.
- Proven experience designing and governing APIs in large, distributed, multi-team environments.
- Strong expertise in REST, GraphQL, and event-driven architecture (preferably Kafka).
- Deep understanding of DDD concepts, schema modeling, and integration patterns like pub/sub and CDC.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes-based platforms, and multi-tenant SaaS implications.
- Location: Must be based in or able to work from our office in Málaga (Hybrid model).
Nice to have
- Experience with media, publishing, CMS, or DAM platforms.
- Knowledge of API gateways, developer portals, or API catalog tools.
- Familiarity with GraphQL federation or unified API platform strategies.
- Experience with analytics/AI data pipelines.
