Location: Full-time onsite in Sunnyvale, California, United States. Not eligible for current visa sponsorship.
Salary: $277,600β$416,400 per year, with a midpoint target of $347,000; compensation may be adjusted based on geographic differential.

What you will do
- Lead and grow the Hardware Engineering organization, setting expectations for engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Coach, mentor, and develop engineers while establishing growth goals and succession plans.
- Set technical strategy for the hardware product roadmap and align strategic priorities with detailed engineering decisions.
- Oversee complex hardware projects from concept through production, managing schedule, cost, quality, and downstream deliverables.
- Drive improvements to engineering processes, tooling, and ways of working to increase product-release speed and quality.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership on vision, strategy, cross-functional execution, and organizational growth.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in hardware or mechanical engineering.
- At least 4 years of experience managing engineering teams in a people leadership role.
- Track record of delivering multiple complex hardware products from concept through production.
- Strong technical depth across hardware disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering.
- Experience developing engineering talent and building high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, and organizational design.
- Must work full time onsite in Sunnyvale, California; current visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- Experience in consumer hardware, advanced manufacturing, robotics, defense, or deep-tech product companies.
- Familiarity with ITAR regulations and compliance.
- Familiarity with NPI processes and managing hardware at scale.
- Experience in fast-paced, product-led organizations with tight cross-functional dependencies.
