TL;DR
Auxiliary Operator (District Energy Operations): Operating, servicing, and maintaining diesel engine generators, boilers, chillers, pumps, and related plant equipment with an accent on safe and uninterrupted district heating, cooling, and electric generation. Focus on monitoring equipment performance, identifying maintenance needs, completing routine rounds and records, and responding to outages and unsafe conditions.
Location: Trenton, New Jersey, United States; onsite position with a rotating shift schedule.
Salary: $50.22 per hour, including a mandatory $4.70 annuity; stated hourly rate is $45.52.

What you will do
- Operate, service, and maintain diesel engine generators, hot water generators, boilers, chillers, pumps, compressors, and related equipment.
- Work with the Control Room Operator and Operations Supervisor to maintain safe, efficient plant operations.
- Monitor and record equipment pressures, temperatures, fuel consumption, fluid levels, noise, and vibration.
- Inspect plant and customer operating areas, complete routine rounds and logs, and report maintenance needs.
- Support equipment maintenance and repair using hand and power tools, including during outages.
- Follow safety, environmental, and operating procedures while covering rotating shifts and other operators' absences.
Requirements
- Must be able to work onsite in Trenton, New Jersey, and work a rotating shift schedule.
- Effective communication in English.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum New Jersey High Pressure in Charge Black Seal Boiler Operator license.
- At least three years of experience in a related industry, preferably cogeneration or district energy.
- Knowledge of boilers, reciprocating engines, refrigeration equipment, and fuel systems; valid driver's license and ability to meet physical and safety requirements.
Nice to have
- Blue Seal Engineer's license or ability to obtain it after hire.
- USEPA Refrigeration Certification, Type III or Universal, or ability to obtain it after hire.
