Staff Software Engineer (SIP/VoIP)

What you will do

• Design, develop, deliver, and operate scalable network and voice-platform services for real-time communications.
• Develop systems software in C and cloud backend services in Java.
• Build scalable, observable, production-ready services on AWS.
• Apply networking and Linux expertise to integrate and troubleshoot real-time communications workloads.
• Lead production troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and improvements to performance, availability, scalability, fault tolerance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, DevOps, QA, security, and operations while mentoring engineers and promoting engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with senior- or lead-level impact.
• Hands-on proficiency in C for systems or network-oriented software and Java for backend services.
• Strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, UDP, TLS, sockets, and network debugging.
• Strong Linux experience in development and production environments.
• Experience designing, building, and supporting cloud services, preferably on AWS, and supporting mission-critical high-availability systems.
• Experience leading technical initiatives from architecture through production delivery, mentoring engineers, and influencing technical direction.

Nice to have

• Spring Boot and web application development experience.
• Broader AWS experience with ECS/EKS, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB/RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience with SIP, VoIP, OpenSIPS, Kamailio, Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, contact centers, CCaaS, UCaaS, or CPaaS.
• Experience with multi-region deployments, Kubernetes, service mesh, zero-downtime releases, and network security.
• Strong observability and incident-leadership experience.
