Staff Software Engineer, Systems (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with work required two days per week at the Westford, Massachusetts office

Salary: USD 136,500–260,500 annual base salary in Massachusetts

What you will do

• Develop and deliver software for a highly scalable, distributed, AI-driven SD-WAN and cloud AIOps platform.
• Design and implement intelligent path-routing solutions and Linux-based networking systems.
• Build features for network hardware appliances, zero-touch connectivity, SD-WAN functions, and customer-facing control-plane systems.
• Drive technical decisions from technology selection through product delivery while collaborating with product managers and designers.
• Improve product efficiency, scalability, operability, and reliability through design, coding, testing, and optimization.
• Participate in design and code reviews, guide technical design, and work with field engineers to triage customer issues and improve the product.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience developing large-scale software systems and 3+ years building and leading technical teams.
• Strong C/C++ development and debugging skills, including modular, multi-threaded programming on Linux.
• Experience building and shipping reliable, highly distributed systems, with expertise in L2, L3, and/or L4 networking protocols, IP networking, and socket-based programming.
• Strong debugging, optimization, object-oriented design, problem-solving, and complexity-analysis skills.
• Experience with test automation, Agile development, test-driven development, and continuous integration, plus strong written and verbal communication.
