Senior Network Engineer (Network Engineering)

Location: Washington, DC; full on-site schedule required

Salary: $125,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Support system administrators and the lead network engineer in developing and implementing IT and network plans.
• Manage network operations using SNMP monitoring tools and monitor networks according to established plans.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues using protocol capture and decode analyzers.
• Plan and build networks across OSI Layers 1–3, including TCP/IP addressing and subnetting.
• Install, configure, manage, and document cable plants, switches, bridges, hubs, concentrators, transceivers, firewalls, and other networking hardware.
• Configure and manage VPNs and virtual networking appliances.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with FS Poly is required.
• Seven years of intelligence community experience as a network engineer or network administrator.
• Six years of experience with Cisco switches and network hardware.
• Ability and willingness to perform Layer 1 work, including pulling cable and racking and stacking equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting, technical presentation, network diagramming, and MS Visio skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or mathematics, or four years of equivalent network engineering or technician experience.

Nice to have

• Hands-on network engineering experience in a customer environment.
• Project management experience across the full project lifecycle.
• Familiarity with SAN, Fibre Channel, Linux, SolarWinds, JIRA, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience in mission-like environments.
